Founded in 1993, Friends of the David Anderson Trust (FDAAT) promotes African empowerment by providing grants to individuals and community based programs for study and training in the fields of education, law, wildlife conservation, information technology, AIDS counseling, mental health and community development.

To date, FDAAT has funded individuals and community-based programs in Ghana, Madagascar, Namibia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
